9.23.15 London to Amsterdam by walking stick.

I've been eyeing people with canes. I know I'm at risk for falling. It comes on suddenly - sharp pains. While in Bath I went into a sports store and found a collapsible "walking stick". Sounds so much better than cane. I've only had one episode where I couldn't bear weight on my right hip but many episodes where I've felt unsteady and feared that pain might cause me to collapse.

It was my walking stick coming out day. I used it for most of the day although didn't really need it other than to help me out of seats. I just thought I'd better get used to it.

The day went well. A nice breakfast and to the airport. We got to our Amsterdam apartment via a Tesla cab and had a nice stroll and a little shopping for our apartment. The apartment is beautiful as are the bells that ring every 15 minutes from various places. The stairs up 2 flights are intimidating in how steep and narrow they are.

Bicycles are everywhere and all single speed - no hills. No one wears helmets either.

Settled in for cocktail time and some reading before bed.
